Car Safety Kit Must-Have's

It's the time of year when many of us will hit the road for summer vacation and now is the perfect time to review the essential items you should keep in your car in case of emergency.  Many stores sell pre-made kits, but it can be just as easy to make one yourself!  The following are some of the most important items to include:

-          Make sure you have jumper cables, a flashlight, an extra quart of oil and roadside flares.

-          Keep a first aid kit in your car at all times, as well as a roll of paper towels or some rags.

-          Include a blanket, water and some granola bars or other non-perishable food items in case you become stranded and need to wait a few hours or even a few days for help to arrive.

Additional items might include a help sign, duct tape, and a small tool-kit or pocketknife.  Updating your car safety kit is a smart way to prepare yourself just in case you hit any bumps in the road this summer.  Safe travels!
